Polyetherimide (PEI) is an amorphous high-performance polymer. It is heat and hydrolysis resistant and can withstand multiple autoclaving cycles.

Its characteristics are similar to those of polyetheretherketone (PEEK) but PEI is less temperature-resistant and has lower impact strength.
